B.Sc. International Hospitality Management
The 3-year degree, B.Sc. – International Hospitality Management, provides a challenging program that will help the students to develop a critical, analytical, and evaluative approach to hospitality management.
The students begin with a solid grounding in fundamentals of hospitality service, followed by courses in managerial competencies for skills, specializations and advanced management skills.
The course is designed to produce graduates with all the necessary technical, operational and management skills to meet the demand of the international hospitality industry. Our education is planned to enable students learn and practice the core skills identified by the hospitality industry as essential for career success globally. These include food and beverage service, culinary skills, rooms division, leadership, teamwork, motivation, customer service, finance, marketing, human resources and cultural awareness. The education model is modern yet flexible to accommodate latest trends/innovation in hospitality.

Exchange Programme with Turismo de Portugal
V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education has tied up with Turismo de Portugal for a “Collaborative International Training and Education Programme”. This is a six week specialised programme focuses on training students and mentoring teachers after which, participating students and teachers receive a certificate of training.

What will you study?
This dynamic course provides an industry focused curriculum taught through a range of practical and academic learning styles to maximize the learning experience. Students learn all the necessary business skills to equip them for management cadre, while getting plenty of opportunities to put their skills into practice.
1 st Year
The students are taught hospitality concepts with introduction to foundation courses in Food production, Food and Beverage Service, Hospitality Industry Studies, and Rooms Division. Besides, they are also taught Applied Communication and Data base & Industry software, Drama and Music. Since European languages are becoming ever-increasingly important in the world of work, students also study one European language i.e. French.
2 nd Year
The students are equipped with knowledge, understanding and professional management skills needed to be successful in the exciting and vibrant hospitality industry. Practical classes are conducted in Food Production, Food and Beverage Service and Bakery Arts which are the main craft based subjects taught at the year 2 level. Besides, they are also taught optional and supporting subjects like Management Process –Hospitality Tourism, Leisure and Event, Cultural studies and Hospitality Law.
Internships give students an edge when it comes to getting that job in the hospitality sector. The professional internship is of six months duration at starred hotels. We are serious about maximizing the potential for students to learn practical skills from real-life work experiences. Students have an opportunity to train in reputed leading hotels in India and abroad.
3 rd Year
The combination of key management subjects such as Research Methods, Strategic management, Financial Accounting, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Event Management ensures that our graduates are well equipped for a successful career in the hospitality sector.
